Angelina Jolie Talks About Her Kids While Visiting a Refugee Camp in Jordan

Angelina Jolie arrived in Jordan earlier this week, and on Friday, she paid a special visit to a Syrian refugee camp as part of her Goodwill Ambassador duties. The mom of six met with several kids before taking the podium to speak to the press about the number of children living at the camp. "There are children here who remember no other life than this harsh, desert environment and barbed wire fences. There are teens here who bear terrible mental and physical wounds of the conflict." She continued, "Over half of all the refugees in Jordan are under 18. My own children are of that age and like any other parent, it is impossible for me to imagine what it would be like for my own children in this situation and it breaks my heart."

After shedding light on the conflict in Jordan, the actress urged leaders from around the world "to ask the fundamental question of what are the root causes of the Syrian conflict and what it would take to end it." This is Angelina's fourth trip to Jordan, and it comes as Syria begins its fifth year of civil war.
