In our Q&A series Last Call, we get down to the bottom of every last thing with some of our favorite celebs — from the last thing they texted to the last thing they binge-watched. This week, Bailee Madison takes our call.

Bailee Madison has been acting since a very young age, with starring roles on The Fosters, Once Upon a Time, and Good Witch, but now she's showing off her singing voice in Netflix's musical film A Week Away. The film follows a young teenager who "takes a leap of faith" by attending a summer camp, and it's sure to give you all the High School Musical and Camp Rock vibes. Ahead of the film's release on March 26, we sat down with Bailee to discuss everything from the last day of filming to the last time she got starstruck.

What was the last day filming A Week Away like?

The last day was really emotional, to be honest. We ended on a scene with Kevin [Quinn] and I, and it's actually a very intimate scene in the movie where the two of them are connecting after both sharing a very emotional night. It's just this scene that was written in the trailer the morning before the night shoot, and it was just born out of a conversation with the producers, and we were all saying, "I feel like there's one moment that we needed here that we don't have yet." Alan [Powell] walked in, and we started talking about these lines and what they would be saying, and it ended up being the scene that we wrapped and finished with. It all felt very full circle, but lots of tears and lots of claps. And the castmates who had wrapped earlier in the day stayed so they could see us wrap out, and it was very special, and we all just kept saying, "I hope we can all be back and do this again," because we really loved the film, we love the story.

Last piece of advice you received that changed your life?

It's not the last piece of advice that I was given, but it is advice that as I get older, it starts to become more and more prominent in my life, as I try to navigate my personal life as a young adult and then also an actor. When I filmed Parental Guidance, Billy Crystal gave me a locket with my birthstone, and it was like a key, and he said, "There are so many doors that you've already unlocked, but there's so many more doors to unlock," and go and find those journeys, basically. So for me, it's been so much of understanding what he meant by that, which is doors will shut, but that was never really meant to be your door, so go and fight for what you believe in, fight for what makes you you, and then see what happens at the end of the day. So I feel very grateful for that.

Last thing you texted?

The last thing I texted was about this interview. I said, "Is that this one?" And they said, "Yes hop on, on."

Last thing you watched on Netflix?

An organization show. I think it's called like The Home Edit or one of those. It's where they go in and reorganize houses. I'm very exciting.

Last thing you ordered online?

I ordered coffees and tea this morning for me and my glam team.

Last photo on your camera roll?

It's a photo of me and my dog sleeping on the couch. I had a five-minute break today, and my hairstylist got this photo of us.

Last thing you do before going to bed?

Make sure that my alarm is set. The last thing would then be to kiss my dog goodnight. Even if he's at the end of the bed and he doesn't want to be touched, I'm like, "Goodnight, I love you, you're such a good boy."

Last gift you received?

I got a purse from my boyfriend. I love it, it's like my new everyday bag.

Last book you read?

Oh man, it's been a minute. I'll be honest, I've been in postproduction nonsense in my brain. I couldn't even tell you. I've literally just been living off of emails, but I really, I need to get better with my reading and make a point also just to carve out that quiet time too at night. But right now I'm like living on Gmail, which is a great book.

Last time you were starstruck?

Anytime I get to see Taylor Swift. I always freak out.

Last thing you did for self-care?

I've actually been trying to make a point to fit in a workout every day. My friend teaches Pilates, and she's a part of my bubble, and so she's been a good source in trying to teach me that. It's not a selfish thing to also take an hour for yourself to care for your body. So that's been my last few weeks and mentally has helped me so very much.
