"Full House" Star Bob Saget's Cause of Death Revealed

Bob Saget died on Jan. 9 at age 65. The Orange County (Florida) Sheriff's Office confirmed the news in a statement shared via Twitter. "Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room," they tweeted. "The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene."

At the time, police said investigators "found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case." An autopsy report conducted by Orange County Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany, MD, was shared on Feb. 10, confirming initial reports. "It is my opinion that the death of Mr. Saget, was the result of blunt head trauma. His injuries were most likely incurred from an unwitnessed fall," Dr. Stephany said in a statement. "A toxicology analysis did not reveal any illicit drugs or toxins. The manner of death is accident."

On Jan. 10, Saget's family issued a statement about his passing, obtained by "Us Weekly." "We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today," the statement read. "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter."

Hours later, the "Full House" cast, including Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Coulier, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and John Stamos, released a joint statement via John's Instagram account. "Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family," they captioned the post, featuring a throwback photo of everyone together on the set of "Full House" spinoff "Fuller House". "Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us." They concluded: "Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob's honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob."

The stand-up comedian was best known for his starring role as patriarch Danny Tanner in the beloved hit sitcom "Full House," which ran on ABC from 1987 to 1995, as well as hosting "America's Funniest Home Videos" from 1989 to 1997.
