Jim Gaffigan Is a Dad of 5 — Get to Know His Kids

Other than his love/hate relationship with Hot Pockets, comedian Jim Gaffigan is known for his stand-up specials that often revolve around his family life. Jim, who is married to producer and comedy writer Jeannie Gaffigan, shares five children with his wife and frequent collaborator. The longtime couple met in New York City in their 20s and married in 2003, as reported by Parade.

Being parents to a group of five kids is no easy feat, and the Gaffigans haven't been shy about how they have made it work, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a previous interview with The Scott Brothers, Jeannie revealed, "Because Jim and I both come from large families — he's one of six and I'm one of nine — five kids never seemed like a big deal. We always figured out a system to make it work. Then, during quarantine, all the things we had in place to maintain structure vanished instantly. No more sitters, school, camps, helpers, outings, etc. Suddenly we were like, 'Oh, my God! We have FIVE kids!'"

While some in the entertainment industry can find it difficult to balance work with family life, Jim seamlessly blends the two together by bringing them to his comedy shows and even acting with one of his sons on his semi-autobiographical sitcom "The Jim Gaffigan Show," which aired from 2015 to 2016.

In addition to her dedication to activism, Marre has also appeared in some of her dad's YouTube videos and on "The Jim Gaffigan Show."

Jack Gaffigan

The firstborn son of the Gaffigan family, Jack Gaffigan, was born on Nov. 27, 2005. Like his parents, Jack has an interest in entertainment and has not only starred on "The Jim Gaffigan Show" but has also appeared in a few of his dad's stand-up shows, as reported by Romper. Katie Gaffigan was born on May 10, 2009. Before she was born, Jim and Jeannie had a pregnancy loss in April 2008. Touching on her birth, Jeannie revealed to Catholic New York, "I think the Blessed Mother was showing me that through great pain, in a very literal way, comes a beautiful gift from God."

Like her other siblings, Katie has inherited her parents' sense of humor, with Jeannie writing in a celebratory birthday post on Instagram in 2021, "Katie is sunshine & starlight & fills the room with magic. Keep making us smile & being silly when you're serious & serious when you're silly."

Michael Gaffigan

The fourth child of the Gaffigan gang, Michael Gaffigan, was born on June 19, 2011. Michael can frequently be seen alongside his siblings in his dad's various YouTube videos, including his "Quarantine" series and his "My Kids React/Ask" series, or doing normal kid activities with his brother Patrick on social media.

Patrick Gaffigan

Patrick Gaffigan, the youngest of the Gaffigan siblings, was born on Sept. 27, 2012. Like his other siblings, Patrick is often spotted in his dad's YouTube videos or on his mom's Instagram. According to his dad's Instagram, Patrick enjoys harvesting homegrown veggies from the family garden, in addition to hanging out with his older brothers and sisters and playing games.

On his eighth birthday, Jeannie shared a post on Instagram to compliment her youngest on his special day. "I love you so much you are tough as nails, funny and smart and constantly adorable...You have an amazing life ahead of you where you can do anything...keep being the incredible human you are," she wrote.
