Kate Middleton Wears Princess Diana's Jewels in New Portraits

Kate Middleton is turning the big 4-0 on Jan. 9! Ahead of the milestone birthday, Kensington Palace released three stunning new portraits on Saturday. They were captured last November at London's Kew Gardens by Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.

In one image, the Duchess of Cambridge accessorizes a one-shoulder, red gown with diamond earrings from Queen Elizabeth's collection. In a side-profile image, the mother of three gives off ethereal vibes, showing off her iconic sapphire engagement ring and pearl drop earrings, both of which belonged to the late Princess Diana. Lastly, the third photo of Kate echoes her mother-in-law's iconic 1997 photo shoot for Vanity Fair. All three portraits showcase the British label Alexander McQueen.

The portraits will be displayed in Berkshire, St Andrews, and Anglesey, all places where the royal has lived. In 2023, they will enter the National Portrait Gallery's permanent collection. Keep reading to see the regal portraits!
