Nicola Peltz Beckham Addresses Victoria Beckham Feud Rumors Again: "It Does Hurt My Feelings"

Nicola Peltz Beckham, 27, is once again speaking out about the rumors and reports that she is feuding with husband Brooklyn Beckham's mom, Victoria Beckham. Brooklyn, 23, is one of four stars featured on the cover of Variety's 2022 Power of Young Hollywood issue, and in the accompanying interview, Nicola says she thinks the speculation began when she opted to wear a Valentino Haute Couture gown for their wedding instead of one designed by Victoria.

"I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress," Nicola reveals. "She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that." Brooklyn, who's lived his entire life in the spotlight thanks to Victoria and his former soccer star dad, David Beckham, adds: "I've learned they're always going to try to write stuff like that. They're always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good."

While speaking with Grazia in September, Nicola doubled down on her previous comments. "Well, I was planning on wearing Victoria's wedding dress," Nicola said. "And I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. I thought that was so beautiful and such a beautiful story."

Nicola's close friend and stylist Leslie Fremar and mother Claudia Heffner Peltz were assisting with the design of the gown. "I thought, 'Oh, this is going to be so fun. One of my best friends and my mom.' We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn't hear anything," Nicola recalled. "Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn't make it. So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie, and I was like, 'Well, unfortunately, this can't happen, so what's the next step?' I've been a fan of Valentino and their couture for so long. I was really lucky to be able to travel to [the atelier] to try on the dress. That's really what happened."

She continues in the Variety interview: "When I read things that say [things like] I was never planning on wearing a [Victoria Beckham] dress or things like that, it does hurt my feelings. I try not to let it, but it's just not the truth. It's just a bit of a bummer when you're like, 'Oh, people think that,' but it's just not true." Referring to David and Victoria, Nicola adds, "They're great in-laws."

Amid all the speculation, Brooklyn says he has his wife's back "100%." He adds: "To be honest, my wife is obviously my first priority and I never want to see her upset ever. When people do say ridiculous things, we just talk about it and we just move on."

Brooklyn and Nicola wed on April 9 at Peltz's family mansion in Palm Beach, FL. While discussing her relationship with Brooklyn, she previously told Variety over the phone, "The thing that's great about us is that we don't need anything from each other. We're just so in love. There's nothing I need from him or he needs from me." The couple escaped to the South of France over the summer for their honeymoon, where they were photographed relaxing on a boat and showing plenty of PDA. Meanwhile, Victoria has yet to publicly address the rumors of discord herself.
