Alejandra Silva Shares Rare Photo of Her and Richard Gere's Kids For Her Birthday

Alejandra Silva is celebrating her 40th birthday by sharing her love for her family. On Feb. 17, the 40-year-old political activist posted an Instagram photo of herself at the beach with her two kids, whom she shares with husband Richard Gere. "Thank you all for the birthday wishes," she wrote in the caption. "After almost 3 weeks of everyone being sick in our family, today finally I feel much better! Thank you for all the love ❤️ I give it all back to you!"

Silva and Gere got married in 2018, per Us Weekly. Their marriage drew some attention due to their age difference, as the "Pretty Woman" star was 72 and Silva was 38 at the time. Silva is an activist who runs the foundation Rais Fundacion, which strives to end homelessness in Spain. In addition to her two kids with Gere, Silva has a son named Albert from her previous marriage to Govind Friedland. Meanwhile, Gere was married twice before — first to Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995, and then to Carey Lowell from 2002 to 2016.

Richard Gere and ex-wife Carey Lowell welcomed the actor's oldest child, Homer, into the world in February 2000, per People. Homer is "the joy of my life," he told The Guardian in 2002. "Loves music, very fast runner, very smart. Very funny. Pretty quick he learned irony, which is a wonderful quality for any human being."

Alexander Gere

Silva gave birth to her first child with Richard, Alexander, in February 2019. In September 2018, Silva announced her pregnancy by sharing a since-deleted Instagram photo of the Dalai Lama placing his hand on her baby bump. "A very special moment just a few minutes ago . . . Getting blessings for our precious to come," Silva wrote in the caption, per USA Today. "We couldn't announce it before telling HH Dalai Lama."

Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva's Second Child

Richard and Silva's second child together, whose name hasn't yet been made public, was born in April 2019, per USA Today. A month later, Silva celebrated her and Richard's anniversary and their growing family on Instagram. "Today is the day I married the most wonderful man I have ever met, I know it sounds cliché but it's true," she wrote. "Comes from my heart, I'm so proud to be with you, to share this life with you, to be the mother of our children, to be your friend, to be your Wife! You make me sooo happy! You are the love of my life."
