Since the third Pitch Perfect movie is still more than a year away, James Corden and Shawn Mendes graciously stepped in to ease our a cappella withdrawal with a riff-off for the ages on The Late Late Show on Wednesday night. James and the "Treat You Better" singer engaged in some competitive trash talk before breaking into songs like "Wannabe" and "No Scrubs," all with the help of The Filharmonic (who actually appeared in Pitch Perfect 2, by the way). We (as well as a bunch of shocked celebrities) were already well aware that the late-night host can sing, but after hearing his duet with Shawn at the end of the riff-off, we're going to need them to release an album ASAP.
