T.J. Holmes's Dating History Reveals He Has a Type: Powerful Women

Daytime news talk shows are not typically where viewers go for their daily dose of television drama, but the revelation that "GMA3" anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are dating may have changed that.

When photos of the journalists vacationing in upstate New York together appeared online via the Daily Mail on Nov. 30, 2022, many were shocked, to say the least. As far as their millions of viewers knew at the time, they were just friendly coworkers who ran marathons and hung off buildings together as part of their day job. After all, Holmes and Robach were both married — Holmes to lawyer Marilee Fiebig and Robach to Andrew Shue — or so viewers thought.

It turns out not all is as it seems on daytime news. Ahead, we're breaking down Holmes's dating history, including his romance with Robach.

Holmes's first wife was journalist Amy Ferson. There isn't all that much known about Ferson or her relationship with Holmes (including when exactly they met and married), but Us Weekly reports they divorced in 2007. They share two children together, Brianna and Jaiden, according to People.

Much like her ex, Ferson appears regularly on news television, only on the political news beat. Check her out reporting on the 2020 presidential election on "The Heat."

Shortly after his divorce from Ferson, Holmes met Marilee Feibig, lawyer and chief diversity officer of the Save the Children Foundation, and they married in 2010. The particulars of how they met are unknown, but their daughter, Sabine, was born in 2013.

Holmes was very open about how much positivity Fiebig brought to his life throughout their marriage. In a 2014 essay penned for The Root (via Eurweb), Holmes wrote, "I like who I am with her," describing her as a "partner" who was always "looking out for me, advising me, keeping me on track and stopping me from making a mistake, no matter how great or small." Years later, on their 10th anniversary, he penned a gushing Facebook post, writing, "Asking her for another 10 years would be asking too much. Another 10 months? That may even be a stretch. If she gave me another 10 weeks, I should consider myself lucky. If she puts up with me another 10 days, I'd be grateful."

Unfortunately, that level of bliss didn't last. In November 2022, explosive rumors that Holmes was dating his "GMA3" coanchor, Robach, emerged in the press, along with photos of the pair vacationing in upstate New York. Days later, a source told People that Holmes and Fiebig had separated in August 2022 before his reported relationship with Robach began. On Dec. 28, E! News reported that Holmes filed for divorce from Fiebig after nearly 13 years of marriage.

In a Jan. 4 statement through her lawyer to the Daily Mail, Fiebig said her sole focus amid her divorce from Holmes was "the overall best interest of her 9-year-old daughter" and that she was working with Holmes's lawyer to "move their divorce forward privately, expeditiously and as amicably as possible." She did, however, express dismay over Holmes's lack of discretion amid his newfound romance with Robach. "We continue to be disappointed by T.J.'s lack of discretion, respect, and sensitivity toward Marilee and the party's daughter," the rep added.

Amy Robach

On Nov. 30, 2022, the Daily Mail reported that Holmes was dating his "GMA3" coanchor, Robach, shocking viewers who believed both anchors were still married to their spouses (Robach married Andrew Shue in 2010). Days later, a source claimed to People that the pair had long been separated from their respective spouses. "This was two consenting adults who were each separated. They both broke up with their spouses in August within weeks of each other," the source said. "The relationship didn't start until after that." A source also told Entertainment Tonight that they "did their best to keep things professional and private."

Although the pair did not violate any of ABC News's policies, they were temporarily pulled from their hosting roles on "GMA3." About the decision, ABC News president Kim Godwin reportedly said, "These decisions are not easy, they are not knee-jerk, but they are necessary for the brand and for our priority which, you guys know, are all of us — the people here at ABC," in a staff call, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

ABC News's decision to pull Holmes and Robach off screens apparently didn't slow their romance, however. The pair were seen traveling together during the 2022 holiday season, and have also been spotted out together in NYC on multiple occasions. On July 22, the U.S. Sun shared photos of the duo bar-hopping around Manhattan's West Village — showing that their romance is seemingly still going strong.
