Tom Hanks Says "Goodbye" to Penny Marshall After Her Death With a Heartfelt Message

Tom Hanks tweeted a heartfelt message on Dec. 18 following the death of actress and director Penny Marshall. The entertainment duo worked together on some of the iconic films Penny directed, including Big and A League of Their Own.

Tom was joined by former costars Geena Davis and Rosie O'Donnell, and many other stars, in saying goodbye to Penny. "Penny brought so much joy to so many and will be sorely missed," Geena wrote. "I will forever be grateful to her for letting me be a part of A League of Their Own."

The acclaimed director and Laverne and Shirley actress passed away at the age of 75 following complications from diabetes. She is survived by her daughter Tracy Reiner from her previous marriage to writer and actor Rob Reiner.
