4 Sneaky Cameos You Almost Definitely Missed in The Cloverfield Paradox

With only a few hours of warning on Sunday night, Netflix dropped the latest entry of the J.J. Abrams-produced Cloverfield franchise, The Cloverfield Paradox. The sci-fi thriller is a prequel that takes place mostly on an international space station this time around. While the film features a bunch of familiar faces including Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Daniel Brühl, David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, and a few others as the film's space-bound scientists, there are also a select few actors whom you might not have noticed (thanks to their under-the-radar parts). See if you managed to clock these cameos!

Donal Logue

Actor and comedian Donal Logue — who's been friendly with J.J. Abrams since appearing in the 1996 film Diabolique together — has been in everything from Blade to Ghost Rider to Gotham, so there's a chance you recognized his bit character. In the beginning of the film, he pops up briefly as a raving commentator warning a news anchor that the Cloverfield spaceship's particle accelerator experiment could cause a rift in the time-space continuum (or . . . something). He explicitly mentions it potentially "unleashing chaos" and setting "demons" free on Earth. As we all know now, he was right.

Simon Pegg

Simon Pegg is one of Abrams's nearest and dearest, so of course he was going to be in The Cloverfield Paradox in some way (he got a part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, too, remember?). This "cameo" is particularly hard to spot, however, since the Star Trek: Beyond actor can only be recognized by voice. He's credited as one of two "Radio Voices" who sporadically read out ominous headlines from around the world as the crew checks in on their home planet.

Greg Grunberg

Greg Grunberg has been incredibly close friends with J.J. Abrams ever since they were kids (and has popped up in nearly every Abrams project), so it's no surprise that the Alias actor was hooked up with a tiny part in this movie. He's the voice of "Joe," aka the guy on the phone with Michael (Roger Davies), the husband of star Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Ava Hamilton, throughout the film.

Ken Olin

Ken Olin is not only a friend of Abrams but also an executive producer and frequent director on the NBC drama This Is Us. Like Pegg, he provides the voice for one of the radio announcers in The Cloverfield Paradox.
