Olivia Benson’s Steamiest Relationships on Law & Order: SVU

Don't we all wish that we were a gorgeous badass like Lieutenant Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU? Played by Mariska Hargitay, Olivia dates some of the hottest men television has to offer. While she has plenty of dates (and men who only wish they could take her on one), we're breaking down the dudes who make it past an episode or two. And even though they have the best (platonic) relationship ever, no, her partner Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) is not on the list. Season 19 premieres on Sept. 27, so if you haven't made it through the first 18 seasons yet, beware that there are spoilers ahead!

David Haden: Season 13

This romance cools off as quickly as it heats up! David (Harry Connick Jr.) is the executive assistant district attorney (ADA) assigned to the SVU unit. See the problem? Fortunately the two have a steamy relationship while it lasts. They even go on a weekend getaway together, only cutting it short due to work.

When the two are working on a rape case, it's clear there is a conflict of interest, so they don't divulge their relationship to their bosses and decide to end it before it gets serious. When David eventually resigns, his four-episode appearance also come to an end.

Brian Cassidy: Seasons 1, 14, and 15

Cassidy (Dean Winters) and Olivia have a one-night stand in the very first season of the addictive series. Since they're both detectives at the same precinct, Olivia cuts it off because she doesn't want it to interfere with work — and that's the last we see of him, until years later.

We're reintroduced to Cassidy in the last episode of season 13 as he's working undercover for a prostitution ring. Olivia and Cassidy reconnect almost immediately, and season 14 is straight up chaos — Cassidy is shot and in life-threatening condition. Then, he's accused of rape and Captain Donald Cragen is accused of murder, which is all wrapped up in the same prostitution ring drama.

Ultimately, Cassidy and Cragen are let off the hook. Olivia and Cassidy continue their romance and even move in together! Sadly, at the end of season 15, the two grow apart and separate even though we know there will always be love between them.

Ed Tucker: Seasons 17 and 18

Ed Tucker: Seasons 17 and 18

We've known Internal Affairs Bureau Captain Ed Tucker (Robert John Burke) since season three. We rarely see him for good news, though, since his job is to investigate and weed out dirty police officers and detectives. Tucker often clashes with the SVU team since he sometimes gets in the middle of cases and has a very stern and often rude demeanor. In season 17, however, that all changes.

He and Benson end up fitting together in a way we can't believe we didn't see coming! Tucker even brings up planning a trip to Paris with Olivia and her young son, Noah. But in season 18, Tucker reveals that he's thinking about retiring. This worries Olivia because her work is her life and she fears that she and Tucker are in different places in their lives. Not to mention, she also has Noah to look after. At the end of the season, the two break up and we still don't know how to feel about it.
