The Big Bang Theory's Prequel Is a Go!

CBS is working on a prequel series based on The Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Cooper, and we leaned this week that the show is a go — it's been ordered straight to series for the Fall season. Recently, we learned who would be playing the younger version of Sheldon, and now we know some more casting news and details. Jim Parsons is on board as a producer and narrator, and Jon Favreau will direct and exec produce the pilot. Take a look at the main cast members.

Iain Armitage as Sheldon
Armitage is already one of Hollywood's busiest kids — you may recognize him from Big Little Lies, and he has three movies coming out this year — and now he's taking on the role of young Sheldon.

Zoe Perry
The Family's Perry, who happens to be the daughter of Emmy winner Laurie Metcalf, will play Sheldon's mother, Mary Cooper.
