Dancing With the Stars will be back before you know it! On Aug. 18, ABC revealed the 29th season of the dancing competition series will premiere in September. As if that wasn't exciting enough, they also announced which pro dancers will be returning for the upcoming season, including defending mirrorball-trophy champion Alan Bersten. That being said, this season will also include a few shake-ups, including a brand-new host. Curious about what else you can expect this season? Following Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews's exits as cohosts, ABC announced that Tyra Banks will be the new host of the upcoming season. Banks will also serve as executive producer for the revamped series.
DWTS returns on Monday, Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
The cast for season 29 includes The Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe, Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean, Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause, and many more.
Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli will be returning as judges; however, Derek Hough will be replacing Len Goodman. While Goodman is not able to return to the ballroom due to travel restrictions, he will participate in this season "in a different capacity" while staying in the UK.
On Aug. 18, ABC announced which pro dancers would be returning, including Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Brandon Armstrong, Cheryl Burke, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, and Emma Slater. Daniella Karagach and Britt Stewart will also be joining as pro dancers after performing in the DWTS troupe during previous seasons. On Aug. 24, it was announced that Artem Chigvintsev, who recently welcomed his first child with Nikki Bella, would be returning as a pro dancer as well.
