Omarion is ready to share his personal journey to self-assurance with the world. Fans may know the Grammy-nominated singer from his B2K days and, of course, success as a solo artist, but there's another side that people have yet to meet.

For the past two decades, Omarion has dedicated his life's work to a music career. He's currently working on his next album, "Full Circle," which is expected to release later this year, along with other TV and movie projects ushering him into his "mogul" era. For the singer, balancing these responsibilities, fame, and fatherhood hasn't been without challenges, which include dodging negative rumors and public feuds. But Omarion has smartly poured all those experiences and then some into his insightful literary debut, "Unbothered: The Power of Choosing Joy."

"To be able to give context to my journey and put it in a place where it can be utilized for other people's experience, it's an amazing thing."

Omarion began working on his newest passion project in 2020 during the second Millennium Tour, which he headlined. Over the course of a year and a half, he crafted his self-help book — which he describes as a "power tool" — made up of poignant never-before-shared stories, mantras, and philosophical techniques that have grounded him in his mindfulness journey. Omarion's perennial ability to remain calm, cool, and collected when facing adversity in the public eye is hard to overlook, and now the singer is offering an intimate lens into his secret approach.

If you're looking for details about drama with Omarion's former bandmates — Lil' Fizz, J-Boog, and Raz-B — or the fallout with his children's mother, Apryl Jones, then "Unbothered" is not the book for you. It's quickly clear that Omarion's latest offering is not a "B2K tell-all," nor is it a deep dive into his romantic relationships. According to him, "Unbothered" is not an attempt to "bash or make people look bad," but instead, it's a multifaceted spiritual guide that reveals how he's learned to master his emotions and find mental clarity, all while seeking joy.

"At this point in time and in life, so many people are dealing with challenges, and the conversation has transitioned into mental health and awareness. Within my own challenges, to be able to come to a point where I've been able to use the yogic system, spirituality, breath work, and affirmations, these are all things that have helped me grow and stay elevated through my challenging times," he tells POPSUGAR. "To be able to give context to my journey and put it in a place where it can be utilized for other people's experience, it's an amazing thing. My boy Nipsey Hussle said, 'The highest human act is to inspire.' So it's always been a part of my journey to inspire people. Using the breath work, affirmations, journaling, and asking myself whether certain things serve me has been an amazing tool that I know would be super useful for people who are looking for something different in their life — something more, something better."

Omarion admits "Unbothered" is a playful flip on the title fans bestowed on him for his measured response to the "very public humiliation" he experienced with his former bandmate and his children's mother. As he reveals in the book, their relationship, like many other events in his life, pushed him further into his journey to a life at ease, but they also gave him a better understanding of who he is.

"It actually gave context to a posture that I've been holding all my life, and that is to be unbothered," he says. To Omarion, that doesn't include simply having a nonchalant attitude: it's maintaining a lifestyle that requires lots of inner work and emotional intelligence. "Being unbothered is choosing to respond instead of react, and what a powerful thing in life that is," he adds. "Certain things are happening for us and not to us, and it would behoove us to take that position to pause when we're going through challenges and to actually think about what we want to do and be thoughtful. That serves us more than reacting. So to be unbothered is to really create balance for yourself."

"I give those very personal stories that I haven't shared publicly inside of this book to give context to the journey of the things that I've had to face."

"Unbothered" weaves in a myriad of anecdotes, journal prompts, motivational quotes, and breathing exercises throughout the text, but the soul of the book lies in Omarion's deeply personal stories. Without going down a rabbit hole, the singer digs up just enough examples from his own life to drive home the valuable lessons he hopes to teach others. From the family-oriented principles he learned from his grandmother to leaning into his role as a father to exploring celibacy, "Unbothered" shares all of what Omarion hopes will encourage people to make the lifestyle changes they see fit.

"Being an entertainer, growing up in the public eye, and having my fair share of things and narratives being put out there, to be able to give context and also stand up for myself and my journey and tell another side is important for me," he explains. "I give those very personal stories that I haven't shared publicly inside of this book to give context to the journey of the things that I've had to face. . . . To be able to speak about these things in a candid way is something that was so necessary for me and, to be quite frank, is how this book manifested. . . . For someone like me, all my trials and tribulations have manifested into a tool not only that I can use and reuse but also that I could share with the rest of the world."

"Unbothered" isn't a book you can simply breeze through. It's a keepsake, as Omarion puts it, that readers can refer back to when they need to hold themselves accountable for the kind of life they want. "Hence the journal prompts [and] those tough questions that you have to ask yourself in order to create a space of wholeness and peace for yourself," he adds. "I really want people to be unbothered. I want them to understand the philosophy, and I want them to choose joy."

According to Omarion, his great intention is what has carried him through his spiritual awakening and "always supported me and protected me in the end." Through honesty and accountability, he's mastered what it means to be unbothered. Looking back at who he was before his journey of understanding and the advice he'd offer, Omarion says, "I would tell myself, 'Just keep being you. Be yourself unapologetically, and keep growing.'"
