Jessica Jones: Here's What the Main Characters Look Like in the Comics
We're mildly obsessed with Netflix's new series Jessica Jones and not just because it's filled with awesome Marvel Easter eggs. Krysten Ritter stars as the title superhero-turned-private-investigator, and though she's killing it on the show, she does look different from the comic-book version of Jessica. In case you've also been wondering what all the main characters look like in their original forms, we rounded up pictures of them from the Marvel series. Take a look to find out which character is a different gender in the books!
Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones
Jessica Jones
Comic-book Jessica Jones has lighter hair and a permanently anguished look on her face.
Rachael Taylor as Trish "Patsy" Walker
Trish "Patsy" Walker
In the books, Patsy has long red-orange hair. Oh, and spoiler alert, she also becomes a superhero named Hellcat.
Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth
Jeryn Hogarth
Surprise! Moss's character is a man in the books. Moss told MTV News that the gender swap itself is an afterthought for her, saying, "I think [what's] more interesting to me is that I’m playing the first lesbian character in Marvel."
Mike Colter as Luke Cage
Luke Cage
Yeah, this looks about right.
David Tennant as Kilgrave
Zebediah Killgrave
In the comics, Tennant's character is Zebediah Killgrave (note the two Ls) or, simply, the Purple Man. According to Tennant, there was never any serious consideration that he would be painted purple for the series.
