Season 2, Episode 11: "The Magnificent Archibalds"

The crime, deceit, and betrayal we see between the Archibalds is balanced by the angelic presence of Cyrus and Dorota, who tend to shine in these turkey day specials. This episode packs in everything from mother and daughter tension to an alliance between Eric and Chuck. Even an eyebrow raising storyline about Serena's new boyfriend, Aaron Rose, manages to get a seat at the table. This episode isn't as fast-paced as some of the other Thanksgiving themed specials, making it slightly less intriguing if you're looking for explosive storylines and nail biting moments.

Season 4, Episode 10: "Gaslit"

Nate's parents speak of divorce, Serena is scarily MIA, and Blair and Chuck's ex-lover tension grows… classic Gossip Girl, right? Oh, and it even packs in a controversial trio of supporting characters -- Jenny, Juliet, and Vanessa -- who team up to seek revenge against Serena. Although this episode has that edgy and twisted Gossip Girl feel, it's definitely on the darker side of the spectrum, causing it to rank lower than some of more exciting Thanksgiving specials.

Season 6, Episode 8: "It's Really Complicated"

This episode tangles breakups and blackmail, making for an action-packed final Thanksgiving episode in the Gossip Girl series. This is a must re-watch because it features Serena's eternal optimism, many poetic lines from Dan, and some plotting by Chuck, Blair, and Nate to take Bart Bass down with an intelligently twisted scheme. It's fun to see Dan and Serena play house this episode, and equally as entertaining to see how Dan's new book chapter throws a wrench into their happiness and impacts their Thanksgiving dinner. However, there's a lack of tension that's missing from the other Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes. In fact, the next entry on this list is a perfect example of everything coming to a head during Thanksgiving dinner.

Season 3, Episode 11: "The Treasure Of Serena Madre"

This Thanksgiving episode has Gossip Girl written all over it. Featuring fiery betrayal, love triangles, and plenty of tension, this episode is truly a festive gem. While Dan lusts over Vanessa shortly after a threesome, Blair finds out someone close to her is pregnant, and Serena is knee-deep in an affair with Tripp that sends Nate into a spiral. This episode dishes out fast-paced storylines with a side of comfortingly sentimental Gossip Girl moments, making it a strong contender for the winning spot — but it still lacks the spice that the remaining Thanksgiving episode has. However, we'd be terrible if we didn't mention Eric's iconic "Your sweet potatoes are bland" over Jason Derulo's "Whatcha Say."

Season 1, Episode 9: Blair Waldorf Must Pie

If you love Gossip Girl for the cutting drama, flirty intrigue, and intertwining family stories, this episode delivers just that. While Nate deals with some awkward parent tension, Serena and Blair get into a relatable BFF squabble over none other than Chuck Bass. Between Dan's well-intentioned plan involving Serena to a beautiful Blair/Dorota dynamic, this episode doesn't disappoint with it's intense ups and downs and chaotic nature. It most definitely sets the tone for many more explosive turkey day features to come, making this the magnum opus of Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes.
