After Many Cryptic Captions, Selena Gomez Releases New Single, "Lose You to Love Me"

Nearly five years after releasing Revival, Selena Gomez has finally released new music. It all began when the singer recently shared a childhood photo with the stark caption, "We always go into it blindly." The cryptic captions continued — "Rose colored glasses all distorted," "I saw the signs and I ignored it," and "I gave my all and they all know it" — until she announced that her forthcoming single, titled "Lose You to Love Me," would be released on Oct. 23. That time has finally arrived, and damn, it was worth the wait.

At midnight, the singer released her new emotional single, along with a statement reading, "This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself."

Gomez previously confirmed that her album was done during a Tonight Show appearance in June. "I'm just relieved, 'cause it took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally," she told Jimmy Fallon. "How was I gonna capture that? How was I gonna actually feel good about what I was saying? I kept going, and I'm relieved now."
