Out of all the complicated dilemmas one faces in high school, there's one we luckily never had to deal with: students randomly and abruptly exploding — literally. And not in a "my mind is blown" kind of way. But that's exactly what happens in the outrageous coming-of-age satirical comedy, Spontaneous, based on the popular YA novel of the same name.

In POPSUGAR's exclusive premiere of the trailer above, we see high school seniors Mara (Katherine Langford) and Dylan (Charlie Plummer) trying to navigate their new world in which their fellow students start spontaneously combusting. Between the duo's spot-on ET impressions and an unexpected budding romance, the hilariously surreal trailer already has us hooked.

So, how does one live the rest of their senior year knowing they could explode at any moment? We'll find out that and more when Spontaneous premieres in select theaters Friday, Oct. 2 and on premium video-on-demand on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
