The Cast of Zoolander 2 Just Keeps Getting Larger
The fashion and entertainment worlds were abuzz in March when Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crashed Paris Fashion Week as Derek Zoolander and Hansel, their characters from the 2001 comedy classic Zoolander. The stunt came about as a way of announcing the release date for Zoolander 2, the long-awaited sequel. Now, with the movie shooting, we also know a few cast members who will be in the follow-up, including some original stars from the beloved, quotable movie. New cast members have been steadily joining as well, including the most recent addition, Justin Bieber! Take a look at the full cast (so far) here.
Billy Zane
Billy Zane, who played himself in the first film, was announced by this funny video on Ben Stiller's Instagram account.
Ben Stiller
Stiller, who created the character of Derek Zoolander and directed, starred in, and cowrote the first film, will be back as star and director again. (Justin Theroux is writing the script).
Penélope Cruz
Cruz's involvement in the sequel was previously rumored, but Stiller confirmed her casting with a cute #fbf on Instagram. Though her role is unknown, she was the first confirmed cast member who was not involved with the original film.
Owen Wilson
Wilson — one half of the team that crashed Fashion Week — will reprise his role as male model Hansel.
Christine Taylor
Stiller's real-life wife will reprise her role as Matilda, Derek's love interest.
Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell confirmed his involvement in the movie last year, saying Mugatu was in the script.
Cyrus Arnold as Derek Jr.
Ben Stiller Instagrammed this on-set picture of him with young actor Cyrus Arnold, saying, "Meet @cyrusarnold. Son of Derek."
Fred Armisen
Armisen posted this cute video to Instagram about packing for Rome, which director Stiller then shared as his cast announcement.
Olivia Munn
Munn has been seen filming in the front row of a fashion show, alongside racer Lewis Hamilton, for the movie.
Kyle Mooney
The Saturday Night Live player has nabbed a role in the sequel.
Justin Bieber
Stiller revealed this news via Instagram, with a picture of himself and Bieber having a stare-off.
