Adorable 4-Year-Old Idolizes His Mailman and Helps Him With Route Every Day

For kids, it's often the little things that matter most — like playing with the huge box that their birthday present came in rather than the gift itself — and for Carter Lawson, it's no different.

The 4-year-old, who completely idolizes Mike, the neighborhood mail carrier, helps him with his route every single afternoon, and the small act is the best part of Carter's day. Mike, who has been with the US Postal Service for nine years, says that Carter is the best part of his day, too, "Every letter carrier has stops he looks forward to and this is the one I look forward to every day. He's the end of my day, and the best part of my day — not just because it's the end, because he's such a cute little guy."

Every day the two head down the street together in matching outfits while Carter asks Mike questions about his job and Mike protects Carter from the neighborhood dogs — both cliché and adorable.

Carter says he wants to be a mailman just like Mike when he grows up.
