You Won't Believe the Infants in This Incredible Rainbow Baby Photo Are Twins

You may have seen Jarani and Kalani Dean before — photos of the biracial sisters went viral earlier this year when people realized that one had a light complexion like her white mom and the other had a darker complexion like her black dad. It was a genetic rarity, only one in 500 odds.

But turns out, that's not what makes their story so incredible, at least to their parents.

The girls' mom, Whitney Meyer, considers them to be a "miracle" for another reason: her son Pravyn Meyer passed away when he was 2 years old, and 18 months later, she was pregnant with the twins. Pravyn's skin tone was mixed while her oldest son, Talan Meyer, has light skin. According to Fox 5 NY News, who interviewed the family, "she loves that each daughter resembles one of their brothers."

As the girls celebrate their first birthday, Whitney shared a touching tribute to her two rainbow babies: a portrait of the baby girls in a milk bath surrounded by flowers.

She added: "I also wanted parents who are grieving to know that there are miracles for us who are suffering still to this day."
