Boy With Autism Obsessed With Blockbuster Just Got the Best Surprise

Javier Zuniga's brother loves Blockbusters — yes, you read that right; we'll give you a second to get back into your seat after that blast from the past. The young man, who also has autism, is a big fan of the endangered chain, which believe it or not still has a few open locations. However, on April 23, 2017, the location nearest to Javier and his brother's house closed, so the boys' parents decided to give their son a huge surprise.

In a post to Twitter, Javier shared photos of his dad and brother in front of a Blockbuster shelf set up right in their home, as well as his brother's reaction once he opened his eyes and saw his personal video store. "My autistic brother was sad that Blockbuster was closing down, so my parents made a mini one at home for him!" Javier wrote.

His excitement is completely contagious, and the amount of touching replies on Javier's original tweet prove that:

@Javiii_Zuniga your parents are absolutely amazing for this. 😭😍💓👏🏼

Some users even offered to expand Javier's brother's DVD collection beyond the many Elmo, Barney, and VeggieTales shows and movies he already received from his amazing parents.

@Javiii_Zuniga I have about 22 DVD's to contribute if you want them. The $437 in late fees are worth this smile.

This mom and dad are likely contenders for 2017's parents of the year award, we think.
