How a Stranger Helped This Groom Give 1 Mom the Ultimate Wedding Day Surprise

When Becky was getting ready to marry Kelly, she prepared to do it without her child by her side. Becky's son, Triston, passed away in 2015, and although a piece of him still lives on, Becky never met the man who received her child's heart.

However, before their special day, Becky's groom tracked down Triston's organ recipient and arranged for Jacob to surprise the bride during their ceremony. He secretly flew Jacob to Alaska and interrupted the ceremony to have him stand in as a groomsman, carrying Triston's heart with him. Becky's wedding photographers, Love Adventured, captured when Becky first laid eyes on Jacob as her shock and recognition registered.

"I knew about this surprise but nothing prepares you for the beauty of this moment," Love Adventured wrote on Facebook. "Kelly stopped the ceremony to introduce Jacob to Becky for the first time. Everyone was so moved by this and I had to share this amazing story."

After a meaningful hug, Jacob revealed a second surprise: he had a stethoscope for Becky to hear her son's heart beating. Before the ceremony, Jacob shared with Triston's younger sister his plans for a "heart-healthy life" and his gratitude toward Becky and her family for giving him a new chance at life can be felt in each tear-inducing photo. "I am so blown away by his story and his amazing outlook on life," Love Adventured wrote. "You couldn't ask for a better recipient to receive such a gift."

Without knowing that there would be an extra guest, Becky had reserved an extra seat in honor of her late son with a sign that read, "I'm in heaven for your wedding so what shall I do? I'll come down to earth to spend it with you. So save me a seat, just one empty chair. You may not see me but I will be there."
