We're about to have a candid chat about wet pet food, y'all, so weak stomachs, beware.
If you're a pet owner, you're well aware that wet pet food is one of the grossest things known to man. Sure, it contains chicken and salmon and whatever else is within those gravy-covered chunks (or god, the patés), but unlike our freshly cooked foods, it's not exactly appetizing — and it's even more gross to look at when it's been sitting out for hours. Dog owners likely have this problem less, but because cats have a tendency to graze, my two cats' wet food sits out for so long that it becomes dry and crusty (so sorry). And because we have to leave them alone for long stretches to go to work, we usually aren't able to dispose of it before that happens.
Enter: the Magisso Happy Pet Project Naturally Cooling Ceramic Bowl.
This incredible bowl is basically like a little ceramic cooler for your pet's food. Through its unique design, it manages to keep itself — and thus, your pet's lunch — cool, which also helps to eliminate bacteria. Keep reading to see it in action.
The fish in the middle is cute, sure, but it's actually designed to help your pets slow down and chew between bites. The dog version has a bone in the middle!
Listen, if I could afford to buy my cats those fresh food meals that take up an entire industrial-size freezer, I would — but I can't, so here we are with canned food. We feed our cats Whole Earth Farms Grain-Free Real Chicken in Gravy.
The girls took a few bites of the food, but otherwise, it looks untouched.
Again, it looks pretty much the same minus the missing bites. Around this time in a normal pet bowl, their food would have soaked up any remaining moisture.
By this time in a regular bowl, their food would start to look really dry, but in this bowl, it still looked pretty much the same as it had when I first filled it up.
After a night out with friends, we came home to see that the cats still hadn't finished their food, but damn, did it look pretty good (relatively speaking, of course). Normally, if there's still food left in the bowl by the end of a work day, it looks hard and crusty and it goes straight in the trash, which is a total waste.
