This Mom Had the Most Epic Excuse When Her Son Missed School For Harry Potter World

When you're in fourth grade, visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is clearly very high up on your list of priorities, especially when your mom is a diehard Potter fan as well. For one young boy, the Harry Potter magic occurred when the Hogwarts gods (aka the boy's mom) waved their wands on his school absence note after he missed three days of school to attend the theme park. His mom filled out his "Student Attendance Behavior Improvement Plan" with the best excuse we've ever seen!

The image was posted on Reddit by the mom's sibling and has since gone viral for obvious reasons. Reddit user CaptainOutstanding explains that though their sister cleared it with the school in advance, they still decided to send a note, which prompted the funny, Harry Potter-related responses.

When asked to specify her son's "attendance problem," she wrote, "Student was learning defense against the dark arts," implying that the trip was very crucial to her son's education. And when asked how to prevent this from happening again in the future? "No concern anymore. He passed his O.W.L.s and his N.E.W.T.s."

We're so glad her son passed his exams because if one thing's for sure, it's that the Hogwarts standardized tests (Ordinary Wizarding Level and Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test) are not taught at his Muggle school! Bravo, Potter mom.
