The Social Security Administration Has Revealed 2018's Official Top Baby Names!

We know that 2018 seems so last year, but the Social Security Administration (SSA) has just revealed the most popular baby names of the last year according to its data, and it's definitely a fact that the previous year's names tend to influence the current year's.

In news that will surprise approximately no one, the top 10 lists for both boys' and girls' names didn't really change all that much. However, in exciting news, two new names are in the top 10 that weren't there last year, one of which has never made it to the top 10 before now.

Pushing out 2017's number 10 baby girl name, Abigail, is Harper, which is debuting in the top 10 at spot number nine for the first time since 2016 (it held 10th place in both 2016 and 2015). This is the highest it's ever appeared on the girls' list. And knocking out 2017's number 10 baby boy name, Jacob, is Lucas, which has never been in the top 10 before but now sits in slot number eight.
