Christopher Meloni may be a big Hollywood star, but he's also the father of two young adults, Sophia and Dante. The 61-year-old actor and his production designer wife, Sherman Williams, have been married for 27 blissful years while managing both their successful, busy careers and raising a family — a love story you don't see too often in Hollywood. The "Law & Order: SVU" actor considers himself a hands-on dad, and at times, maybe a little "crazy."

"I think my kids would call me a little crazy," he said in a previous interview with USA Today. "I'm very physical, very affectionate. I'm also very disciplined and focused on education." Likewise, he also encourages his kids to express themselves whether that be in athletics or the arts.

Meloni's parenting style was impacted by how he felt as a child growing up. "What works for me is empowering my kids," he said. "I remember not having any power when I was growing up. Power helps kids mature, and it requires critical thinking on their part," he added. "They feel engaged in a decision, which makes them feel engaged in the family process."

Sophia Eva Pietra Meloni

Born on March 23, 2001, Sophia Eva Pietra Meloni is the couple's eldest child and only daughter. The 21-year-old is a big fan of family time — just take a look at Chris's Instagram, and you'll see. She also enjoys being out in nature, especially with their dog Scotty. In a 2017 episode of "The View," the "Happy!" actor joked that Sophia doubles as his daughter and in-home stylist: "Usually it's the parent that goes 'No . . . you're not walking out of the house dressed like that,' but it's my daughter going 'Dad, let me see. Turn around. Go back upstairs!'"

Sophia, who is a writer, started attending Wesleyan University in 2020, but took a gap year in 2021 amid the COVID pandemic, during which she worked as a production assistant on the set of "Law & ORder: SVU."
