Please Watch Deacon Phillippe Give Reese Witherspoon a Crash Course in Dapping

You can count on Reese Witherspoon to ask all the hard — read: adorable — questions about teenage slang. After asking her 16-year-old son, Deacon Phillippe, the ins and outs of TikTok back in October, she recently picked his brain about what "dap somebody up" means. She shared her little lesson to Instagram, and we have a feeling a few other parents are silently thanking her. "More important life lessons from Deacon Phillippe," she captioned the video adding a playful "#dapping" hashtag for good measure.

Deacon, the ever-patient son, has no problem giving his mom the rundown. But the funniest part? When Reese confuses dapping with dabbing. But according to Deacon, "that trend died like two years ago." Who knew making a handshake with your friends could get so dang complicated! Watch until the end for a laugh.
