Yoga Mats

Your trusty yoga mat has been with you through too many Downward Dogs and namastes to count. When, however, was the last time you gave it a good scrub down? It's pretty easy to do.

How to Clean: Wipe it down with a spritz of vinegar and a cloth after each yoga session or at least twice a month. This will cut down on the bacteria that may accumulate when you sweat or from any dirt on the soles of your feet.

TV Remotes

TV Remotes

You grab the remote whenever it's time to chill. The last thing you're thinking is how dirty the remote actually is. Everyone in the house touches it — and who knows where their hands have been, especially when you have sticky kids.

How to Clean: Pour a bit of hand sanitizer onto a dry cloth. Then carefully wipe off all of the remotes in the house. Make sure the cloth isn't soaked. You don't want the hand sanitizer to seep into the buttons and ruin your remotes.

Phones

Phones

We are all attached to our phones, and we are always on them. With touch them with our fingers, we get germs from our faces and mouths on them, and more!

How to Clean: Remove the case. Pour alcohol-based hand sanitizer on a dry cloth. Give the case a thorough cleaning. Let it air dry. Then carefully clean the phone itself with a very small amount of sanitizer on the cloth. You don't want some of the liquid to seep into the phone itself as you clean it because it may ruin the phone.

Hairbrushes

Hairbrushes

How long have you owned your hairbrush? You probably use your hairbrush at least once a day. You use it on clean, wet hair and even dry, stylized hair that is loaded with product. When, however, was the last time you cleaned your brush or comb?

How to Clean: To disinfect it, simply remove any hair that has accumulated around the bristles. Then soak it in a 50/50 vinegar and warm water solution for at least 30 minutes. Let it air dry.

Bathroom Loofahs

Bathroom Loofahs

Not only do bathroom loofahs give you a good, sudsy scrub, but they also rarely get disinfected or washed like washcloths do.

How to Clean: Give it a little sanitizing bath of its own by soaking it in straight vinegar for at least 30 minutes every week. Let it air dry.
