As a parent, I can't remember the last time I slept past 7 a.m. Even if my 19-month-old is still asleep in the morning, my internal clock has me jumping up at the first glimpse of daylight. And if it's a work day, the 30 minutes I give myself to get ready seem to fly by when there's a kid I'm also trying to get ready and feed. It's exhausting!

According to an interview with Katy Perry on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Katy gets my struggle! The vibrant songstress chatted with Ellen about how her life and morning routine has have completely changed since getting engaged to Orlando Bloom — he has an 8 1/2-year-old son named Flynn, and Katy's very much involved in the parenting!

"We have to be out the door at 7:30 to be there at 8:15 and we cannot be late," she told Ellen during the interview. "Which means now you're a morning person. I used to not wake up till, like, 11 a.m. and now I'm in bed like a normal person at 10 p.m., just like falling asleep," Perry added. "I guess this has definitely matured me."

She finished with a bit of humor that makes us love her all the more. "I guess this is adulting! That's why I still dress like a child — to fight against!" Same, Katy. Freaking. Same!
