I Had to Pick My Jaw Up Off the Floor After Watching This Family's Les Mis "One Day More" Parody

When every member of your family is musically gifted and stuck in the same house for weeks on end, it should be a self-isolation requirement that you perform Broadway show tunes and post them to social media. The Marsh family, thankfully, fell in line when they sang a rousing coronavirus-themed parody of the song "One Day More" from Les Misérables and posted a video of the rendition to Facebook.

One kid sings, "I had no football match today. How can I play when we are parted?" Then another joins in, singing in harmony: "Our grandparents are miles away. They can't work Skype, we're broken-hearted." The youngest of the four kids really hits home with her addition: "One more day, all on my phone!"

It's hilarious but also heart-wrenching, as they ask for respirators and vaccines and vow to "phone those left alone."

But perhaps the most relatable moment comes before the song even begins — in the first seconds of the video, as the family get ready to perform. The kids are simultaneously goofing off and irritating one another, with one complaining, "She just hits me all day!" Another shouts, "Shut up!" As the dad, Ben, wrote on Facebook, "Decided to include a bit of the intro so that you can see what kind of madness Danielle Marsh and I would be dealing with, if we didn't occupy them with music making."
