This Mom Wrote an Empowering Letter to the Salesperson Who Told Her Daughter She Needed Spanx
When Megan Harris, the mom of 13-year-old Lexi, took her daughter to Dillard's in their hometown of Wichita, KS, to find the perfect dress for a school dance, she expected an ordinary shopping trip.
After finding a sophisticated red dress, Megan was taking a photo of Lexi to share with family when a salesperson approached the mother-daughter duo and began making comments about Lexi's weight. The clerk criticized the teenager's weight and told her she needed to wear Spanx with the dress.
In response to the woman's unsolicited remarks, Harris wrote an open letter that she shared on Facebook:
Megan and Lexi have been receiving an outpouring of support and encouraging messages on Facebook. Needless to say, this is one strong family.
