You're Going to Fall Hard For This Princess-Inspired Shoe Line

From the moment we first watched Cinderella step into her delicate glass slipper, we fixated not on Prince Charming but on finding the perfect footwear. We crave shoes that give us a spine-tingling satisfaction but, unlike those glass slippers, stay safe in our closets, even after the stroke of midnight.

And we've finally found the shoes we've been dreaming about, designed in the same Italian factories as Chanel and Prada (seriously, is this real?). When we first stumbled upon Liudmila, designed by rising star Najeeba Hayat, our minds immediately went back to the years we spent hell-bent on becoming a Disney princess. From fur-trimmed sandals to Victorian-inspired button-up flats, we fell head over heels for these high-fashion designs. But it would be a mistake to write off the pieces as just perfectly pretty. "People with perfect taste, who live their lives in perfect balance, bore me to death," Najeeba says — and it shows in that hint of mystery that makes her shoes so alluring.

Full of whimsical heels and flats worthy of a modern fairy tale, Liudmila shoes feel far more special than your average stilettos. "My shoes are inspired by Victorian forms with a cartoon sensibility," Najeeba says. "When I reference Disney princesses, I am referencing that same excess of emotion, adventure, color, sparkle. I don't design for hyper-feminine girls or have some sort of nostalgia for perfect princesses. It's the magic I'm attracted to."

And magical is exactly how we would describe Najeeba's latest collection. While other high-end brands churn out season after season of sky-high stilettos, Liudmila is taking a different approach. "We are one of the only luxury delicate women's shoe brands with a brand focus on lower heels. I believe the future of footwear lies in creating fantasy and desire while respecting a woman's mobility." Because what fun are beautiful heels if you can't enjoy actually wearing them?

Read on for a look at the lust-worthy shoes of Liudmila; we promise you'll love them no matter whose footwear first sparked your obsession. And as for Najeeba? Her princess of choice didn't even wear shoes: "I would say Ariel, but I actually think I'm more of a Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls."
