Johnny Weir Explains His Extravagant Sochi Style
You can take the boy out of the ice-skating rink, but you apparently can't take the crazy ice-skating costumes off the boy. Johnny Weir, who's serving as an expert commenter at the Sochi Winter Olympics for NBC, has drawn even more attention than some of the competitors themselves with his flamboyant on-air outfits.
"I decided to go more of Stanley Tucci's character from The Hunger Games," he explained in an interview with Philadelphia Magazine. "I'm trying to stay between the lines of Johnny on Skating With the Stars and the rest of the NBC men's family in Brooks Brothers."
To that end, Johnny has combined a number of classic menswear pieces with unexpected pairings, like the white button-down shirt he wore with a highlighter-pink blazer and a choker baring the Chanel logo, or a gray tweed blazer with a white lace shirt. Take a look at everything Johnny has worn in Sochi (so far!) below.
