When it comes to my favorite summertime brands, I could rattle off a long list of swimwear-centric designers that fill my lingerie drawer. That said, when I think about some of the newer players in the swimwear game, more and more ready-to-wear brands come to mind, which is, quite honestly, a feat for each and every one of them. In fact, with few exceptions, most of my top "swimwear brands to know" for Summer 2019 began with only clothing, be it lavish cocktail dresses or off-duty bohemian-inspired separates, so it's time to round them all up in a single ultimate list. Ahead, find the best of the best when it comes to ready-to-wear brands that are, quite simply, totally killing the swimwear game this Summer.

01

Ganni

Ganni swimwear is exactly what you love from the brand's loud, proud, but chic as hell ready-to-wear line. There's unapologetic leopard, bright neons, and silhouettes that span the best of the best from the '70s, '80s, and '90s. There is gingham, there is floral, there is animal print and more — all with the sole purpose of making sure you're the best dressed on the beach.

05

Dodo Bar Or

The brand that was always beachwear-centric (at least, since it's fairly young launch in 2014) is finally getting into the swimwear game with a 1970s-inspired collection of bikinis and one-piece swimsuits. With florals that range from ditsy prints to blown-out brights, the silhouettes are pulled from the very best of the whimsical style decade.

09

Johanna Ortiz

It's the bigger the better when it comes to Johanna Ortiz's swimwear, just as it is with the brand's ready-to-wear. The ruffles are larger than life, the silhouettes are striking, and there is a multitude of extra details that range from tied obi-style belts to oversize rosettes and flowers. Each swimsuit is like a work of art and, as such, effortlessly works double-duty as a beach-bound bathing suit and a party-centric bodysuit.

13

Self-Portrait

Beloved dress designer Self-Portrait only just launched its swimwear category in March 2019, but it's already a massive hit — which should come as no surprise, judging by the brand's almost cult-like following when it comes to ready-to-wear. Bringing its signature asymmetric silhouettes, bright colors and prints, one-shouldered shapes, and subtle cutouts to the beach in the same chic manner it does a cocktail party, it's killing the swimwear game.

17

Zimmermann

Just as Zimmermann is a style-lover's go-to for all things ultrafeminine, rife with ruffles, bows, florals, and the like, so it is for swimwear, filling our closets with similarly styled bikinis and maillots. Whether you're looking for an underwire and high-waisted bikini combo or a one-piece suit that doubles as a cocktail-party-ready bodysuit, try Zimmermann's fun and flirty selection.

21

Faithfull the Brand

Faithfull the Brand's swimwear line is the perfect complement to its effortless minidresses, smock tops, and wrap skirts. There are mint greens, pale blues, and soft pinks to make you feel equal parts tailored feminine and free-spirited bohemian.

25

Loveshackfancy

Loveshackfancy just added swimwear to its list of offerings for Summer 2019, and it was well worth the wait. Much like its dresses and lace-trimmed tops, the delicate nature of each and every swimsuit is prim, proper, youthful, and whimsical, all wrapped into one. It's a collection fit for the girliest of girls — inside and out.

29

Mango

While swimwear has nearly always been part of Mango's affordably priced offerings, it's just too good not to mention. And with simple sporty one-pieces and flirty ruffle bikinis in constant rotation from season to season, the European fast-fashion brand has totally nailed its waterproof wears in addition to its robust ready-to-wear collection, year after year.
