Joey King tried out the juxtapositional trend at the annual Elle Women in Hollywood event on Monday in Los Angeles, where she wore a black velvet bodysuit and impressionist floral-print dress from Richard Quinn's Fall 2019 collection. The actress completed the outfit with pointed-toe Christian Louboutin pumps and emerald and diamond earrings by Brumani.

Complete with gloves, the bodysuit creates a sort of optical illusion as it makes the dress look like it's practically floating. If it seems familiar, that's because Kendall Jenner wore a very memorable outfit by the same designer to the 2019 Emmy Awards, except her bodysuit was latex and the floral dress was floor-length. Meanwhile, Cardi B made headlines when she wore a head-to-toe Richard Quinn bodysuit to Paris Fashion Week. (And by "head-to-toe," we really mean it: even her face was swathed in floral fabric.)

Also in attendance at the Elle event were Euphoria's Hunter Schafer and Zendaya.
