After a Summer full of barely there slip dresses and flirty off-the-shoulder tops, we're ready to dive head first into our stash of cozy knitwear. High on our list? The classic turtleneck sweater. While we usually see it thrown casually over jeans, it's actually one of the most versatile pieces you can wear during the colder months — just ask any street style star. This season, break out of your usual styling habit and sport your turtleneck in a cool new way, whether that's with a bandana and overalls or tucked under a belt for an asymmetrical twist.

Tuck it into step-hem jeans

You may already be used to wearing your turtleneck with jeans, but take it up a notch and tuck the front into a pair of high-waisted, step-hem jeans for an on-trend spin. With the help of a belt, you can easily tuck even the chunkiest of sweaters into your bottoms. Then top off your look with a suede saddlebag and cutout oxfords for a casual look.

Wear it under overalls

Next, challenge yourself to wear the sweater under something instead of over. A shift dress or pinafore are both great options, but we can never resist a pair of flare-leg denim overalls.
