17-Year-Old Snowboarder Red Gerard Wins the First Gold Medal For Team USA!

USA! USA! USA! On Sunday morning, Team USA won its first gold medal of the 2018 Winter Olympics after slopestyle snowboarder Redmond Gerard completely upset the competition in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The 17-year-old snowboarder (yes, you read that correctly) was in 11th place after the first two runs, but completely nailed the third and final run with his outstanding flips and tricks. He finished with an impressive score of 87.16.

Not only did Gerard win the first gold medal for the team, but he's now the youngest American to win a medal in a snowboard event at the Olympics. Incredible! Below, watch his winning run and enjoy some of the best reactions to the epic win. Make sure to keep up with the full Olympics schedule here.
