About the Bellicon Classic Trampoline

Bellicon makes different sized mini trampolines (39 inches, 44 inches, and 49 inches), but I got the 44-inch, which feels much roomier than mini trampolines I've tried before. It makes me feel like I have more freedom to jump without constantly looking down at my feet or fearing I'll land on the springs or fall off. The large area of jumping space also allows for a greater variety of movements.

You can order yours in different colors since you're able to choose the color of the jumping mat and the bungees. The only thing you need to do when it arrives is take it out of the box and screw on the legs, which takes just a few minutes. Then you're ready to start bouncing!

What I Love About the Bellicon Mini Trampoline: Videos

One great feature of the Bellicon mini trampoline is that this workout is so quiet! I like to use it for a few minutes to warm up before rowing and for my HIIT-style workouts, but I also like following along to videos I've found on YouTube — Bellicon offers free videos, so that adds to the value. You also get a free 30-day subscription to Bellicon Home, the company's online fitness platform that's filled with great workout videos designed exclusively for the Bellicon. The videos make the workout fly by, and they're so fun, I forget that I'm exercising.

I've always loved jumping rope, so this gives the same feeling, but it's better for three reasons: there's no rope to trip over; you can bounce higher, so it's way more fun; and it's less impact on your joints. I felt like I could jump longer on this trampoline than I could jumping rope.

Aside from the videos, I liked using it to run in place. Compared to other types of cardio I do, like running and rowing, I noticed that my heart rate got much higher in less time and with less effort. I was shocked how high my heart rate got on my Apple Watch, yet I didn't feel like I was working super hard.

Trampoline workouts were fun, but I also liked doing little trampoline work breaks. I'd pop on the trampoline for a few minutes just to wake up my brain and muscles.

I particularly like using the Bellicon trampoline for strengthening moves like push-ups, squats, lunges, and triceps dips. It doubles as a bench and a BOSU ball.

Although a Bellicon Mini Trampoline ($779) is up there in price, it's cheaper than other cardio equipment like a treadmill or indoor bike. It also doesn't require electricity to make it run, so that's an added savings.

Tips For Mini Trampoline Workouts

I have two tips to make your experience as awesome as possible. The first is that if you have issues with your feet (I've had plantar fasciitis), wear lightweight sneakers to offer support while bouncing. I found it more comfortable than jumping with socks.

The other tip, which may seem obvious, is to pee before you start your workout. I've had two kids, so I also like to wear my Speax pee-proof undies just in case. Stop to take pee breaks if you need to, because you don't want a little pee to stop your workout!
