Organicgirl Baby Spinach Recall

Skip the Salad! Your Baby Spinach May Have Been Recalled

If you're thinking about having a salad for lunch, you may want to skip the spinach option. The FDA has recalled a small quantity of the Organicgirl Produce 5-ounce baby spinach with the use-by date of Sept. 13 and product code B030298-001B08S. Tests by the California Department of Public Health showed some traces of cadmium, and though it poses little health risk, long-term consumption of cadmium can affect a person's kidneys and immune system.

No illnesses have been reported so far, but it's better to avoid this leafy green for now! The item has been recalled across the states including Arizona, California, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Utah.
