Starbucks Is Experiencing Supply Shortages — Here's What You Need to Know

If your local Starbucks has been out of the ingredients to make your go-to drink order, you might want to saddle up, because it's expected to be a minute before certain items are back in stock. Starbucks, along with many other restaurants and coffee shops, is experiencing supply shortages. According to an internal company update viewed by Business Insider, the coffee chain is temporarily holding production on at least 25 items, including hazelnut syrup, chai tea bags, green iced tea, and more until supply shortages are back up.

But before you scramble about where you'll go to get your caffeine fix, it's important to note that A.) the supply shortage is localized so every store isn't out of the same thing, and B.) it's only temporarily. While some stores are reportedly out of oat milk, sweet syrups, and peach juice, others still have many things in stock. The shortage comes from disruptions to the global supply chain due to COVID-19, and Starbucks is not expected to cancel anything off its menu for good, so your favorite refresher will be back in stock someday, you might just have to wait a bit for its return.

Customers, on the other hand, are taking to Twitter to express how they feel, and not everyone is pleased with the short supply. While you patiently wait for the full menu to be available again, read some of the funny tweets below that prove peoples' Starbucks routines are pretty beloved:

The fact that Starbucks has a refresher shortage should be national news I'm sorry
