Forget the Meatballs — We Can't Get Enough of Ikea's New Restaurant Design!

Ikea is consistently at the vanguard of design — and its commitment goes beyond products; it extends to its stores as well. In keeping ahead of the trends, Ikea completely remodeled nearly every American store's restaurant, begging the question: do you now need a reservation?

The remodeled dining spaces actually have three separate themes: an area for the shopper who wants to grab and go, an area for family-oriented dining, and a coffee shop called Fika after the Swedish "to have coffee." To celebrate the renovations, Ikea is hosting a weekend bash from April 29 through May 1, when shoppers can test the new menu. There will be added perks like gift bags and discounted meal specials. We're excited to test out the refocused menu of sustainable and healthy options, but we're relieved it didn't cut the meatballs! The new menu gives you all the more reason to fantasize about living in an Ikea.
