If we know one thing for sure, it's that Gina Rodriguez might be one of the most generous humans alive — did you hear she sent her Golden Globes dress to a fan so she could wear it to prom? The Jane the Virgin star is never one to keep to herself, openly sharing her wisdom and secrets to living a better life, and that includes having better hair days ahead.

We caught up with Gina recently to discuss her partnership with John Frieda for the #FrizzFreeHairGoals campaign and find out the secrets behind her bouncy waves. Read on to discover exactly how you can get the shine and smoothness Gina's strands have.

On How She Keeps Her Hair Frizz-Free at the Gym

"I definitely rock John Frieda Frizz Ease Expert Finish Polishing Serum ($9) every time I shower — I'm not going to say daily, because I definitely don't wash my hair daily; I've got those natural oils that kick in and make my hair shiny. You know how when you do your hair, day two is actually better than day one?"

"So I'll do the serum, then blow-dry it or let it air-dry. That's been saving me tons of time and a lot of stress because no one wants to worry about their hair 24/7, specially when life happens. When I'm going from the Jane the Virgin set to working out, I don't want to have to feel like I have to get all done up to go work out. I'm not that girl. I appreciate that girl; I commend that girl, but I certainly don't know how to do that. I just wash my hair, apply the serum, and put my hair in a ponytail or a braid and start boxing, girl."

On Getting Her Signature Soft Waves

"My waves are naturally wavier than what I normally wear. I've got curly hair, girl, you know I have that frizz. I normally blow it out, then do some subtle curls at the ends with a curling iron and run my fingers through them to soften them — that's how I get that look, but that has to be done. I definitely don't wake up like that!"

On Her Partnership With John Frieda

"Growing up in Chicago with three older women in my household — my mom and my two sisters — they definitely set the tone for me and the kind of products that I was going to use. Being the youngest of three, I always walked on their footprints. Both my mom and my sisters used John Frieda Frizz Ease, so when [John Frieda] approached me for the #FrizzFreeHairGoals campaign, I was like, this is my childhood. This is something I've been using for 20-plus years."

"The only time I align myself with any kind of brand is when I can speak from a place of truth. John Frieda has been around forever, and I'm absolutely obsessed with them. Not to mention that I really love products that are accessible to all, period. There's no transition I've made as an actress that has made me start buying other things or start acting differently or spending my money differently, and I really love that Frizz Ease was a staple in my household and still is, and it's accessible to all my fans."
