Jessica Alba on Gwyneth Paltrow Comparisons: "I Think It's Unfair to Lump Actresses Together"

Jessica Alba looks gorgeous on the cover of the September 2015 issue of Allure, and while she's, of course, sharing beauty tips and talking about her past hair and makeup mistakes, she's also opening up about her business and comparisons to other celebrity moguls. In the interview, Jessica, whose personal care brand, The Honest Company, is now valued at $1.7 billion, making her one of the top 40 wealthiest self-made women in the world, says of being likened to Goop's Gwyneth Paltrow:

"What I think is unfair is to lump actresses together. People aren't lumping Justin Timberlake and Ashton Kutcher together. They do other businesses. I think it's expected that when you get success in one area, you're supposed to evolve and try to do something else — especially in business, and especially if you're a man."

Jessica also talks about taking a step away from her acting career, saying she never wanted to be pigeonholed: "I never wanted to play into a stereotype, where it's like, 'Oh, you're just the girl who gets saved by the guy,' and she doesn't know how to make decisions, and she gets overwhelmed with all this stuff happening around her. Women are freaking resilient." Keep scrolling for more photos of Jessica's shoot, including the cover, then check out pictures of her most recent vacation in Mexico.
