It's not a World Cup year, but we can still get a little bit of that fútbol excitement this summer with El Presidente, a series that will bring the story of the 2015 corruption scandal known as "FIFA Gate" to Amazon Prime Video on June 5.

Set in various cities in Latin America, the US, and Europe, El Presidente explores the sports scandal that rocked the world through the story of Sergio Jadue, the president of a small Chilean soccer club who became known as a crucial player in a $150 million bribery conspiracy.

Against all odds, Sergio was elected president of Chile's soccer association, as a front for the group of businessmen who were actually running things. Drunk with power, he became the protégée of soccer godfather Julio Grondona, as well as the FBI's key to undoing the largest corruption scheme in the world of soccer.

The eight-episode comedy-drama features a stellar cast including Karla Souza (How to Get Away With Murder), Andrés Parra (Pablo Escobar: The Drug Lord), and Paulina Gaitán (Diablo Guardián). The series was written and directed by Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter Armando Bo (Birdman), who is also an executive producer on the series, alongside directors Natalia Beristáin (Luis Miguel: The Series) and Gabriel Díaz (Bala Loca).
