Maddy and Jesi's love story is the definition of modern romance. The pair first met on a dating app and immediately connected, especially on their first date. "Our happy hour turned into four hours of chatting and munching on chips and guacamole," Jesi and Maddy said. "Several awkward dates and about a month passed before we became official, and the rest was history." It was clear from the start that these two were a match made in heaven, and when it came time to propose, they were on the same page: they both popped the question on a weekend trip away for Jesi's birthday. Maddy proposed first and Jesi proposed the day after. "It was really special and fun to tell our friends and family when we got back," said Jesi and Maddy.
For their big day, the couple decided to get married at Chowgirls Solar Arts in NE Minneapolis, MN, due to the venue's classic charm, hardwood floors, natural light, and exposed beams and brick. The pair decorated with lots of florals and greenery, and went with a very natural color palette. "We wanted a simple, classic feel to our wedding," said the couple. And simple and classic is what they got. Everything from the metal tin centerpieces, elegant ceremony arch, eucalyptus-lined aisle (with much of the decor being made themselves), and even their outfits embodied their natural theme. Maddy wore a voluminous lace dress while Jesi wore a high-neck dress with a button-down back. Together, they picked out each other's jewelry and hairpieces, as well as Jesi's shoes.
The first looks were the most special part of the evening. "After planning the wedding together down to almost every detail, the first look was one remaining surprise," said the pair. "We were certain that all the other elements of our looks would be complementary, but we were not expecting how well our dresses would come together." Even the photographer, Eileen of Eileen K Photography agreed, saying: "Maddy and Jesi's first look was one I'll always remember."
The whole day was filled with love, and as you can tell from the pictures ahead, these brides couldn't get enough of each other! Keep reading to see the photos from this romantic wedding day.
