In 2019, Taylor Swift came out with the whimsical, romantic, and perfectly seasonal song "Christmas Tree Farm." Her music video featured old footage from when she was younger: joyfully playing in the snow, decorating her home for the holidays, and, as the song would have it, picking out an evergreen from a Christmas tree farm. The holiday motifs and romantic lyrics inspired photographer Madeleine Boudreau to bring the song to life and plan a Christmas-themed wedding shoot with recently engaged couple Clair and Martin. Set in a sea of evergreens in Glenelg, MD, the styled ceremony was held at the TLV Tree Farm, a family-owned and operated establishment that has been around for more than 100 years.

The shoot intertwined both Christmas themes and Taylor's lyrics, and featured everything from a rustic apple cider bar to trees that were adorned in the holiday's best decor. "All stations — from the cake table and cider bar to the sweetheart table and altar — were designed and decorated with eclectic items, all personally made or found second hand," Boudreau wrote on her website. The sweetheart table was inspired by the rustic nature of a farm, but was enhanced to capture a new level of elegance by including rich greenery and chic table settings. The bride-to-be's overflowing bouquet incorporated the traditional Christmas colors of green and red along with captivating eucalyptus leaves and crimson flowers.

With nods to the enchanting holiday song found in every nook of the farm — from the hot apple cider bar tucked away between the trees to the mistletoe hanging at the altar — this styled wedding shoot was merry, bright, and in every way romantic. Take a look at the special moments from the shoot ahead, and let these holiday lyrics captivate you for Christmases to come: "In my heart is a Christmas tree farm / Where the people would come / To dance under sparkling lights / Bundled up in their mittens and coats / And the cider would flow / And I just wanna be there tonight."
