5-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Passes Away After Being Pinned Between 2 Cars

Camila Torcato was waiting to be loaded into the back of her dad's car after school when an SUV, which was in gear but without a driver, rolled into her, pinning her between the two vehicles. The 5-year-old girl, who was a cancer survivor, passed away due to her injuries later that day at the Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto.

While local police continue to investigate the cause of this accident, Camila's family and community are mourning the loss of the "true angel" who had been through so much in her short lifetime.

A GoFundMe page was created on behalf of the girl's mother, Amilcar Torcato, to help with the family's finances following this freak and tragic accident.

"Unfortunately God has taken Camila from us," the page reads. "[Having] fought off cancer at 3 and yet again facing a tragic accident at 5, the only thing that we can believe is that she was a true angel. The people who really suffer from these types of events are the parents who have to live on without their child, and [the Torcatos] deserve all the support that they can get so they can find peace without the financial stress that our society can create."

The GoFundMe has reached over 60 percent of its $50,000 goal at press time.
