It's Hard to Believe These Biracial Sisters Are Actually Twins

Jarani and Kalani Dean may be twins, but their differences are beyond that of typical fraternal twins. Kalani has a light complexion with blue eyes just like her mom, and Jarani has a darker complexion with brown eyes, like her dad.

According to Dr. Jim Wilson, a population geneticist at the University of Edinburgh, the chance of a mixed-race couple expecting twins having biracial babies is an extremely rare one in 500 chance. "At first when they were born, I wanted to believe it," the girls' mom, Whitney Meyer, told KHQA. "But it's so rare I didn't think it'd happen to my twins! Sure enough, they're biracial twins!"

In a post to Facebook, Meyer shared a photo of her now 9-month-old girls side-by-side in adorable matching outfits. "We're chromosome twins," the proud mom wrote. "This is rare, but so awesome to share!"
